At home mom routines.. What do you do?
Upon research of at home mom routines, I have come up with a great list of different things to do.
1. Clean... Well Duh!
I mean obviously if you are a stay at home mom, you will eventually clean something. I clean things all day long, I still do have my boogie home. He is 4 and likes to make a mess. I take time during the day to do laundry, clean the dishes, clean the counters, clean the bathrooms, and keep the living room tidy. It is hard when you work in the living room and just do not want to clean too much in there!
2. Cook something?
I love to bake bread for my family. There is just something special about having home baked bread when you want to eat! I love it! I also love to bake homemade brownies, cakes, special sauces, etc.
3. School... Learn something?
I am a full time online student. I am finishing up my degree online for a business degree. I am excited and can not wait finish this! I am looking to also start nursing school in the fall. This will be a new adventure for our family!
4.Organize something...
I am learning how to organize things in my home. I am starting to get the hang of getting rid of things that I no longer want or need. It is a hard process for me to let go of things. I am considered a pack rat but living in a military life, you can not afford to just bring your junk with you from house to house. I am learning if it doesnt have a place, it goes out the door.
5. Have more time with God....
I am loving this one new discovery! I am loving that I am able to spend my time in the morning before I start work, workouts or playing. I can read what I am led to and work on my relationship with my God. I love it!!
6. Workout!
I love to work out! I am going to start my P90X again. This workout is simply amazing and you seriously loose alot of weight with commitment. You have to commit to yourself to workout. It is easy to say.. " I will work out tomorrow" or to say " I am not feeling well, I will promise to work out later"... When is later? For me I was sick and needed to rest.. a few years later I am thinking of doing it again!
I hope that you can give me a few new tips for what you do when you are a stay at home mom. I would love to have these great ideas and try new things!
Until later.....

Back to school.... Back to blogging...
Today my babies went to school! They rode the bus for the first time. That completely wrecked my brain! I was so scared because I did not know if they would make it or not. I was counting down the minutes and seconds until they came home.
A & B went to school today! C is still staying home with mama one more year. He will go to Kindergarten next year. A started 4th grade today. She is so tiny and just doesn't look like she is almost 10. B started 2nd grade today! He is bigger than A and looks like he could be 10, but he is only 7.
Daddy took today and Tuesday off to make sure everything went well with the babies getting on the bus and getting off the bus. He knows me way to well and he knows that I would have totally taken them to school just to make sure they were OK.. maybe take them to school and pick them up every day of the school year.. I mean just to make sure they were OK.. OK, I confess I am that super crazy mama!
I was pretty excited because I did alot of prepping and made sure that the babies had alot of great things for their lunches.
This is the kids "lunch shelf". They know they have things that they may want all in one place. I made the following:
Mummy Dogs
Jello
Pudding
Hard Boiled ( In the oven) eggs
Ranch Dip
Make your own Lunchables stuff ( meat, cheese)
Crackers were in the the pantry.

Operation 31 Wife
After much prayer, I now know why God has been waking me up and gearing me towards a new direction.
God has given me many talents. I can not believe the things I have been able to achieve and do with God. It is true that With God, All things are possible. (Matthew 19:26) He has made me savvy with business, given me the boldness to get in front of people and talk and learn how to work with multitudes of people. God has given me compassion for people in situations like mine.
God has called me to start a group for Military Spouses mainly wives. He wants me to encourage, educate and empower these women with the word of God daily. It is a hard life we live when our husbands leave for months at a time. It can be lonely when our family is many miles away. It is always nice to have a nice smile or an encouraging word. I have started Operation 31 Wife. This group will be based on the Proverbs 31 wife. The Proverbs 31 Wife is very strong and is the guideline of how God wants us to be for our husbands. The Proverbs 31 Wife, describes every woman, and how he has given us amazing talents to use to support our families.
I am very passionate about the Proverbs 31 wife. I love the 31st of each month looking forward to reading this specific passage. I strive daily to be the Proverbs 31 wife to my husband and the Proverbs 31 mom to my children. Yes, this passage also tells you how to be a great wife. It is amazing that God has laid it all out for us. I am very blessed with everything God has given me in my life and I can not wait to start sharing my gifts from God.
I do ask that you will pray with me and ask God to continue to give me the things to say and encouragement for others who are needing this.
*** DO you know a military spouse who is in need to encouragement? Please send them my way at www.facebook.com/operation31wife/
Thank you and I hope you have an amazing day!

Easy Summer Meals
We had Chicken, Steak, mushrooms, bell pepper, onion, and pineapple. They were the perfect combination for our family. My kids ate everything because it was grilled with the meat and they loved the great taste!
Kabobs can be made with any combination of meats, fruits or even veggies. You can make all veggie kabobs or even an all meat one!
Things that are good are:
-Peaches
-Pineapple
-Onions
-Bell Pepper ( all the colors, it will make it pretty!)
-Mushrooms ( I marinated this in Italian Dressing, it was YUMMY!)
-Squash
-Zucchini
-Chicken ( I made this by marinating in a Honey Teriyaki Sauce)
-Steak ( I also marinated this in Honey Teriyaki Sauce.)
-Sausage ( Either regular or even Italian Sausage)
-Ham Cubes
- Marinated Cheeses ( After you have grilled the kabobs or you will end up with a sticky mess!)
- Olives
Kabobs are really hard to mess up! You can put anything you want. You can even make really sweet ones with cold fruit. You can even make a really great dip with even parts Cream Cheese and Marsh mellow fluff.

Pool Safety with kids
© Davesdream | Stock Free Images & Dreamstime Stock Photos
1. Do not allow small children or any children to swim without an adult. I know this may seem like a Duh to some parents. It just is very important and needs to be said first and foremost!
2. Remove all distracting toys or any flotation toys from the pool when not in use. We always take out the noodles out and try to get the little toys off the bottom before we get out. I never really thought of this as a rule or safety guide but it makes a lot of sense.

3. Always remember the sunscreen for your babies and you! Take care of their young skin! We have an array of sun products for the kids. We apply 15 minutes before we go out doors in order for the sun screen to dry and get in before we get out in the sun and the water.
4. Keep a pool fenced off from wandering babies. Water of any kind attracts kids. It could be a nasty muddy water hole outside and the kids are going to run to it and start kicking the water around. Make sure you keep the pool fenced off, it will be an amazing investment for everyone!

With these few pool safety recommendations, you should be able to keep trouble at bay. Make sure you check the pool every morning and evening to keep danger at bay.
Now, I got to go and get my babies into the pool, It is hot outside!
Have an amazing Summer Day!

Fathers Day Ideas for kids
Kids want to do a lot of great things for their dad on Fathers Day! Here is a great list of ideas that you can help your kids or if your kids are old enough, they can do it themselves!
1.Make a Homemade Card!
2. Make their favorite meal! Big Daddy does not like breakfast at all! Very rarely does he even eat before 11:30. So we will help him make his favorite meals by supplying him with his favorite snacks. Yes, he makes his meals out of snacks. He is pickier than a kid!
These are a few things we are going to be doing for our Big Daddy this weekend! What are some of your great ideas? Please share!

Do you have any Favorite Summertime BBQing Tips?
Here are a few of our tips for grilling:
1. Pre-Heat the grill for your food and to get the maximum grill marks. Let's face it, we love to have nice looking food. It appeals to us and makes us hungry. If your grill is hot, you will have really nice marks on the food and it will look like the "professionals"
2.Try and get your steaks to room temperature. I know this goes against everything you have been told but trust me, it actually will make your steak go into shock if you do not have the steak at room temperature. Now, don't leave your steak out overnight, or outside to bake in the sun. That will definitely make you sick! ( I am not responsible if this makes you sick because you do not do it right!)
3. Grill your veggies and fruit on foil! You can put a sheet of foil down before you light your grill. Please be advised, you will need the grill to be cold in order to put the foil down and not burn your fingers! You will want to push the foil down so you can see the grill marks through the foil. You will not drop any food in your grill but still have fantastic marks.
4. Salt and Pepper are your best friend! I know we want to have these awesome spices and marinades but when making burgers, pork chops and steaks, sometimes less is best! I love a great steak but I want to taste the meat not the spice!
and last but not least
5. Don't over cook your meat. I know you are probably rolling your eyes but seriously, there are some amazing meat thermometers, you can even have one in the meat in the grill and while you are chilling inside prepping for the other sides for your dinner!
I hope that you can walk away with a few great tips for BBQ season. I love the summer because you can be outside alot, see bugs and creatures you don't normally see, and spend quality family time!

All settled in and ready to rock and roll!
We have recently moved out of base housing and out in town. We are renting an awesome house that will serve as a retreat for our family for the next two years. It is nice to think that I will be working pool side many times. Sorry I just had to rub it in! We did in fact get a pool. God has shown us alot of favor with moving into this house. We can not believe how many tings fell into place for us to get this house. I look forward to getting thins going once again for our blog. I have alot of great ideas and cant wait to get started.
Now I wanted to let you know how we found our amazing new home. We searched on www.militarybyowner.com for our new home. You will be able to find a home within so many miles of your new base. There are normally pictures and you can search rentals or for sale homes.
We would definetly recommend www.militarybyowner.com when searching for your new home away from home.
I have attached picture of my great family swimming, i am on the side line this week... I played around and got an ear infection :-|

Cherry Cream Cheese Pie
There is only one word to describe this amazing concoction..... YUMMY!!!!! If you ask my husband what he wanta for dessert, it is either a cobbler of some kind or this yummy pie! It is very easy and only requires a few ingredients.
Heres what you will need:
Graham Cracker Crust
2 bars of cream cheese
1 12 oz can of sweetend condensed milk
1 teaspoon of lemon juice
1 can of cherry pie filling
Mix up cream cheeae, sweetened milk and lemon juice. You will want a very smooth mixture. Pour the cream cheese mixture in your graham cracker crust. Put into the fridge to firm up. When you are ready to serve the pie, pour your can of cherry filling on top of the pie. Cut your slices and serve!
I hope you find this pie to be as yummy as we find it to be! Now please do not blame me if you can not stop eating this :-)

What are your Easter Traditions?
Easter is very important in our household. We are a Christian Family and Easter to us is so much more than the Easter Bunny. We love for our kids to have the memories that they will have for an entire lifetime. We make sure that our children understand that we celebrate Easter because Jesus rose from the dead and is alive. We do allow our children to believe in the Easter Bunny, my husband and I both were raised with the Easter Bunny as well.
We usually wake the kids up and have their baskets and candy on the table. This year we are totally not having any fake Easter grass. Truth be told, I hate that stuff. For one, it totally does not look anything like grass and it is just plain messy! This year we opted for pre made baskets and we are adding extra goodies to their baskets. I love having little treats for the kids. It is always a treat for me to see the kids be super excited for Easter Morning.
We usually go to church Easter Morning. It is so refreshing to hear an Easter Service. In the past, we served on Easter Sunday with our church and helped with a massive Easter Egg hunt. It was always so much fun! We will also have a great Easter Dinner.
What wilk you be serving this year for Easter? We usually have ham, mashed potatoes, corn, carrots, rolls, maybe some stuffing too. I love cooking a big dinner. It always means you will have a great meal for leftovers!
I just want to take this time to say I hope you have a fablous Easter and make memories doing whatever it is you do!

Garden Planting
I absolutely love garden time! I got my garden love from my grandparents. They always had fresh vegetables growing up and it made such an impression. Every Febuary, I get the itch. I have to start getting the dirt ready, planr and seeds and my containers. I do container gardening. With moving often, it is just smarter to grow my vegetables in containers.
This year we are growing alot of wonderful things! We are growing Tomatos, Squash, Cucumbers, Carrots, Onions, Brocolli, and lots of awesome herbs.
I am very excited because my garden is growing already and I got a few blooms already on my tomato plant! I love to see hard work grow! It is absolutely amazing. We are growing lettuce as well. Just the other night, we had home made Mexican Pizza, we like to put sour cream and sometimes lettuce on it. My daughter and youngest son are not fond of lettuce. They were the most eager to try it. It is amazing when your children are very excited to see something grow and to see gptheir hard work bloom. We ate our amazing lettuce, and it seriously was amazing!
Do you like to garden? Is your thumb green or black?
Pictures to come... :-)
Credit Karma... Check your credit for free???
I will admit, I was a little skeptical about a site where you can keep tabs on your credit report for free. I first saw Credit Karms on a t.v. commercial. I just thought it was another site like the free credit site. I got my new magazine of All You and they have an article about saving money, which rocks, and it mentions Credit Karma. This led credibility for me because my favorite magazine was saying it was a good site to use.
I signed up for the Credit Karma site. It was very easy to sign up. I entered my personal information, and it asked some personal credit questions. Once I passed the questions, it promptly took me to my credit score and credit history. I will admit, my history is not pretty at all. I am actively working to get it cleaned up and pretty, it just takes work.
I would recommend Credit Karma to all my friends. It is a great site to keep up with your credit. If you can do it for free, there is no reason to pay any "free" site for it. If there is a catch, I have not found it!
* this is not a paid post forCredit Karma, I just wanted to give my experience of this great program. No payments were given for my endorsement*

Loaded Baked Potato Salad
The title should totally, make you drool! This is Mr. Smiths favorite dinner, lunch and cold breakfast! It is very easy to make and it ismyummy..... I am going to say that alot!
Here is what you need:
Potatos... I used 5 large russet potatos- peeled, cubed and boiled.
Mayo 1cup or more
Sour Cream about 1 1/2 cup
Cooked bacon bits- 2 strips cooked and crumbled or cut
Shreded cheese about a good handful! :-)
Green onion about 2 cut up, i actually use kitchen sheers to cut this.
Easy peasy instructions to follow now..
Mix potatos that have been cooled, mayo, sour cream, cheese, bacon and green onion together in a bowl. Let the salad have some time to merry with the flavors. This will help you to have the absolute best flavor!
Again, this is very easy and it is absolutely yummy! Sorry for the measurements, I am very much a taste and season as you go cook.
Happy eating!

Get your taxes done at H&R Block!
We recently did our taxes online at home with H&R Block. It was great to be able to be led through the process online without having to drag my babies out into the cold weather. It was nice not having to set up an appointment, wait for someone I do not know to look over my year. The software just allows you answer simple questions that can help you find the most maximum refund that is due to to you. It helps you with school questions, Kid questions, tax questions.
I actually just sent an email yesterday to a certified tax professional, I got a response within 30 minutes. It was amazing! I truly encourage you to give this great company a try! All of my Military friends have tried this Taxes at Home software and fell in love! Who doesn't love free Tax Help, Tax Software and of course Money back!!!

Starting a New Journey
Apparently I hit my wrist in the perfect spot to really mess up my nerve and have the soft tissue swollen. This is causing my nerves to play tricks on me, I will feel one moment like my arm is on fire. The next moment I will feel like I am so itchy. I will then feel like my arm has opened up and cut open. It is so weird how your nerves work. God is so amazing to have created such an amazing idea as nerves.
I have a few wonderful post ready to go this week! I am so excited, but I need to take a little break. As some may know, I work from home and I have to type for an extended period of time. It can hurt sometimes. Today, Tuesday January 10, 2012 I am extremely grateful for my hand to be feeling better!

Get organized and clean your home!
I have my Control Journal, This has the tools that I need to get my house cleaned everyday. There are small task to do. For example you should do one load of laundry each day to keep the laundry monster away. Another big step you want to accomplish is to keep your sink shiny. If you keep your sink shiny, It will help you to keep your kitchen clean. There is a magic with this process, Once your sink is clean, the house seems to follow suit as well.
I just wanted to send in a quick post today, Please check out www.flylady.net and get your house on track. I am jumping back on the band wagon or I guess I should say Home wagon and I am getting my house cleaned asap!
I hope you will join me on this cleaning journey too!

Joining for Gratituesday!
2011 was a year of wonderful surprises! My husband came home in November of 2010. I was very excited! He was going to go on a 3 year break from deployments! We were stationed in California. I was very excited thinking of all the amazing things we were going to get to do with our fabulous friends in California. In the Military, We all find and make our own little families when we are miles away from our real families.
We were making improvements on our house in California, Dreaming of the fun summers we were going to have camping, going to Disneyland, traveling around California. Do you see we were happy to be in California? Then all of a sudden, The time came to find our new duty station!
My husband calls me..... All of our options for a new duty station are all on the East Coast! None are in California except cold weather training. If you know my husband, Which many do not, he is not about any kind of cold weather! We picked the best choice for us, We choose South Carolina! It was a world wind of Google this and Google that! I had never been past Alabama. I was super excited, My kids not so much! So our new duty station was picked in February, When we were leaving? We had no clue! My husband's orders were the first set of orders frozen by the budget show down in 2011! It was scary! Then it sucked ( Really no other words for it) because we were being asked, When are you leaving? Why haven't you gotten orders yet? Every day! I woke up one day at the end of March, I told my husband. We are going to get our orders today! That afternoon, We got our orders around 2 pm. I was in shock!
We were given 3 weeks to move a Family of 5 across the country! We had to rush to get the kids out of school, Had to rush to get the housing stuff settled. It was a crazy rush and crazy dash. When you know a date, You automatically start thinking, What can I throw away and pick up there? Oh, This is not precious to us, This is precious to us. It was a lot of cleaning and getting ready to move. I miss our old house in California! Alot of amazing memories were made there. A lot of friends met and lost, A lot of amazing friends who are my family now, and too many good byes that we would have never had if we had not been a Marine Family.
I am grateful today that in 2012, that my husband woke up today going to his first day of work for 2012. He has a stable job. I am excited for this! I can not believe all the amazing blessings I got in 2011. I look forward to 2012 and I can not believe all the possibilities we have available for us!

I am going to be building my Blog!!!
So I have a few ideas about what I want my site to be about, I want to have alot of Recipes, Crafts and Inspiration for everyone! I really want to tell adventures of my crazy family! I hope that I can get all my ideas organized and have it put correctly on paper. My mind works so fast sometimes. I do not get the right information down.
For the next month, I plan to get more of the following:

*More pictures on the blog to make it so not boring
*At least one post each day to get the habit of posting each day.
I want to explain a little of my Elevator Pitch:
Confessions of a Military spouse is a blog featuring the adventures of a spouse who also is a mom. This blog will give tips on cooking, crafts and decorating our wonderfully drab military housing. This blog is for Moms, Dads and everyone in between. I am a Wife of an amazing Marine who impresses me each and every day. I am the mom of three amazing children who equally impress me each day. My Tag line was created by just writing words down on a piece of paper and then they just jumped out at me.
Tagline:

Super Mom to the resuce.... again?
My husband and I are discussing our plans for the Spring Break time. What are we wanting to do, go and explore? I have never seen the beaches of Florida. I have heard they are amazing. I would love to see them in person. We have spoiled our children sooo much! I mean really we are giving our kids things we really did not get to experience. One thing is they get amazing travel opportunities from duty station to duty station. It is an amazing experience that I never got. By the time my daughter was a week old, She had been to 3 different states, I did not leave Texas until I was 19!
So we are thinking of hitting a few new places this year! Have you ever been to a great place on the East Coast? Do Tell!!!!! Leave me a few options below! I love my comments! :)
